All things Food and Beverage!

We will be having a panel with a chef, hotelier, caterer and planner discussing everything food and beverage related! Join us to learn how professional planners can work programs around religious calendars, critical holidays to observe, how hotels can cater to the practices of our attendees considering allergies and creative menus and more!

Here are some of the questions our panel will be addressing:

  • What is your biggest challenge with menu planning?
  • Do you have protocols/rules about what you can/cannot accommodate?
  • When there are special dietary restrictions does your chef choose for the client what the supplemented meal will be or do you let the client choose from a menu?
  • Are there certain foods that you avoid completely and do not serve?
  • What is one dietary restriction that you cannot accommodate?
  • What is the most common food and beverage request you get?
  • How much is alcohol a factor when planning meetings or events for specific ethnic or religious groups? Are there specific religious or ethnic groups where alcohol should not be served or even available?
  • How do get creative to accommodate menus on a budget?

Also, remember our chapter will continue to collect monetary donations for Animal Ark, a Minnesota based animal welfare organization. In addition to monetary donations, you're welcome to bring donations (new items only, please) for the shelter to each monthly meeting to be donated.  Supllies the shelter is in need of include:

  • Cat Litter
  • Dog Treats
  • Canned Dog/Cat Food
  • Easy Walk Harness (all sizes)
  • Laundry Deterent
  • Heathing Pads
  • Tennis Balls
  • Stainless Steel Dog Dishes
  • Paper Towels
  • White Printing Paper

 

You can also participate in the Animal Ark Annual 3k Walk on Saturday, May 18th at 10:00 AM in Hastings, MN. This event will also host a silent auction and donations are accepted through Friday, May 10th.  Please contact Janet at JWyman@animalarkmn.org it you or your hotel property is able to contribute.
